Pavilion MG Farms is hiring an Agronomist to enhance soil and crop management, improve farm productivity, and support sustainable agriculture in Nigeria. Job summary

Job descriptions & requirements

Responsibilities:
• Conduct soil analysis and assessments to determine soil fertility, structure, and nutrient requirements.
• Develop and implement effective crop production plans, including crop selection, planting schedules, irrigation, and fertilisation.
• Monitor crop growth and health, identifying and managing pests, diseases, and weeds using best agronomic practices.
• Carry out field trials, research, and experiments to improve crop yield, quality, and resistance to environmental stress.
• Provide technical advice and recommendations on best farming practices, soil conservation, and crop management.
• Promote sustainable and environmentally responsible farming methods.
• Maintain accurate farm records, reports, and data on crop performance and soil conditions.
• Ensure compliance with agricultural standards, safety guidelines, and environmental regulations.

Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree in Agronomy, Agriculture, Crop Science, or a related field (Master’s degree is an added advantage).
• Minimum of 2 years’ hands-on experience in agronomy or farm operations.
• Practical experience with crop production, soil management, and sustainable agriculture practices.
• Strong knowledge of soil science, crop physiology, and farm management techniques.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to interpret soil and crop data and translate findings into practical solutions.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills for effective collaboration with farm staff and management.
• High level of organisation, attention to detail, and fieldwork capability.

Location: Benin City, Edo State

Remuneration: NGN 200,000 – 300,000 Monthly
