• This position requires a professional with experience in project management, particularly in the field of climate change adaptation and natural resource management.
• The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of climate change concepts and strategies, as well as experience in district planning processes and channelizing funds to vulnerable communities.
• A key responsibility of this role is to develop project proposals, annual project implementation plans, contracts, and budgets, and to monitor project activities and enforce deadlines.
• Excellent analytical, conceptual, and writing skills are essential for this position, as well as the ability to develop strong relationships with team members, stakeholders, funders, social networks, and other organizations.

Responsibilities:
• Develop project proposals, annual project implementation plans, contracts, and budgets, and monitor project activities and enforce deadlines.
• Assess thematic and organizational capacity of partners, organize capacity-building of partner organizations, identify experts who can develop climate adaptation planning modules, conduct training, and provide handholding support to partner staff.
• Facilitate integration of tools to capture gendered impacts of climate change, suggest processes to actively involve women in identifying adaptation solutions, review community mobilization process, and prepare synthesis documents on climate adaptation and risk reduction plans.
• Draft six monthly and annual reports, review finance reports, work closely with M&E officers and partners to develop and implement monitoring, learning, and evaluation systems, and inform or consult with senior program officers/country representatives in case of significant modifications in project content and budget or serious problems in a project.

Requirements:
• Graduate degree in social sciences, economics, agriculture, or equivalent from a reputable university.
• Minimum 10 years of experience working in development sector, in field of agriculture, forestry, natural resource management, or livelihoods, with at least three years in grassroots development organization.
• Demonstrated experience in strengthening small farmers' livelihoods through work on soil and water conservation, promoting ecological farming, encouraging diversification, water management, and marketing of agricultural and forest produce.
• Experience in participatory natural resource management planning with communities focusing on gender, social inclusion, and youth.
• Experience in facilitating strong people's institutions and linking and leveraging resources from government programs.

Skills and Qualifications:
• Understanding of climate change concepts and strategies.
• Good understanding of key challenges faced by small farmers in India, as well as government policies and programs to improve livelihoods and support climate change adaptation.
• 3 years of experience in project management preferably in field of climate change adaptation or sustainable livelihoods.
• Strong commitment towards addressing gender discrimination and working with marginalized communities.
• An ability to develop strong, positive relationships internally with team members and externally with stakeholders, funders, social networks, and other organizations.
• Proven track record of accompaniment of grassroots development projects.
• Excellent analytical, conceptual, and writing skills.
• Experience of monitoring and evaluation.
• Fluency in written and spoken English and Hindi.
• Willingness to travel extensively.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
