Southern California Edison is seeking an Advisor of Power and Energy Contracts to manage a $5 billion portfolio of power contracts. Responsibilities include analyzing agreements, market data, and supporting customer relationships to enhance energy procurement strategies. The role requires extensive experience in the energy sector. This position is hybrid, allowing remote work for part of the week while requiring on-site presence in California.

Become an Advisor of Power and Energy Contracts at Southern California Edison (SCE) and build a better tomorrow. In this job, you’ll be an integral part of the energy procurement strategy team responsible for managing, negotiating, planning, evaluating, and administering a nearly $5 billion a year portfolio of power and energy contracts on behalf of SCE’s customers. SCE’s portfolio includes a full range of resources, from traditional renewable and alternative energy to bringing new and innovative energy resources to market such as storage solutions, distributed energy resources and other energy efficiency products to meet the energy needs of nearly 14 million Californians.

Responsibilities
• Analyses potential power sale agreements across a range of sectors, enabling power marketing teams to qualify opportunities
• Synthesizes data capturing power price trends for various US energy markets
• Carries out go-to-market strategies, including but not limited to new geographic regions
• Supports relationships with existing and new customers in the chosen customer market segments
• Executes the analysis of data about consumers, competitors, and market conditions to inform SCE's offtake strategy
• Contributes to responses to RFPs and marketing presentations to customers
• Converts complex data and findings into understandable tables, graphs, and written reports
• Devises and builds tools for collecting and analyzing market data using statistical software
• Participates in the development of bid packages in response to offtake opportunity requests, including RFPs and RFIs for utility projects
• Contributes to go-to-market strategies, including but not limited to new geographic regions
• A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity.

Minimum Qualifications
• Seven or more years of experience with energy industry in power marketing or power origination.

Preferred Qualifications
• Experience in energy and energy commodity procurement in the California ISO or a similar market.
• Experience in process development and optimization, with a focus on enhancing operational efficiency and effectiveness.
• Experience in resource and project planning, decision making, results delivery, team building, and the ability to stay current with relevant technology and innovation.
• Project management experience.
• Exceptional communication skills.

Additional Information
• This position’s work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.
