About the Role:

Carbon provides exceptional service to our clients, and our Accountants are at the forefront of this. Varied accounting experience is vital, as are strong communication and time management skills. In a single day you’ll be juggling multiple balls, but you will always have the support of our high performing team behind you.

The positions will be reporting to our Group Head of Finance and the key responsibilities of the positions are as follows but not limited to:
• Preparation of Management Information reports which include balance sheets, statements of profit and loss, and financial indicators such as yield, cost, base rate, and Liquid asset ratio
• Continuously monitoring and analysing balance sheet, profit and loss, and cash flow statement, and preparing financial reports on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis
• Preparing trial balance, reviewing all asset, liability, expense, income, and general ledger accounts
• Preparation of projected monthly, quarterly, and annual budget target plans, variance analysis, and providing commentary on financial figures
• Accounting daily receipts and payment details, and ensuring bank reconciliation, credit card reconciliations, and employee expense reimbursements
• Tax payment, record maintenance, reconciliation, and filing with the government bodies on a monthly, quarterly, and annual basis.
• Preparing accounting entries, compliance-based auditing, producing accounting information, record keeping, compliance reports, and analysis
• Working in conjunction with external accountants and statutory auditors to resolve financial year-end issues
• Liaising with the finance and planning team, and reporting to ensure internal financial controls are in place, and the correct procedures are being followed for the accounting and bookkeeping of revenue, cost, income, and expenditure
• Prepare payments by verifying documentation and requesting disbursements
• Posting month-end journals in the accounting software for accrued expenses, deferred income, accrued unbilled revenue, prepayments, and reversal of the previous month's accruals
• Implementation and administering accounting information systems of the bank
• Assisting weekly cash flow forecasting and funds management to ensure adequate funds for all financial obligations of the group.
• Preparing quarterly and year-end company income tax returns for calculating the year-end-tax liability
• Posting monthly journals for payroll cost, employee superannuation and withholding tax, salary sacrifice, commissions, and employee termination payment
• Keep up to date with advancement of the technology, and self-train to adapt to change for good.
• Carry out other duties commensurate with the position, as may be determined by the Group Head of Finance.
• Mentoring junior accounting staff
• Assist with annual audits and work closely with statutory auditors
• Reconciliation of vendors' account statements with books of accounts and follow-up for resolving the discrepancies
• Analysis of product profitability determine the unit selling price for the product, and also analyse the promotions and other discount policies act their impact on the business

About You

Desired Skills and Experience.
• Tertiary qualifications in accounting (A degree in Finance, Accounting, or a similar related field)
• At least 2 years (ideally 2-4 years) experience in Australian tax and business services experience
• Completed or completing CA/CPA
• Experience in the preparation of Financial Statements and tax returns
• Experience working directly with clients highly desirable
• Excellent knowledge of Australian taxation legislation
• Experience with Xero/MYOB and the Microsoft Office suite
• Exceptional attention to detail
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
• Ability to work in a team and autonomously
• Energetic and enthusiastic with a positive outlook

Salary: AUD 78,000annually plus superannuation
