An opportunity has arisen for a Workshop Technician to join our Kidlington based Prototype department in a rapidly expanding and exciting work environment.

About The Role

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, this is a key role where the successful individual will be required to assemble complex mechanical and electro-mechanical assemblies whilst adhering to specific delivery schedules and whilst working to a very high standard of attention to detail and quality.

What You Will Do
• In-build testing and validation of assembled components
• Liaising with the appropriate Team Leader to deliver products to the agreed schedule
• Working to and assisting in developing assembly and test procedures
• Assembly of production items and sub-assemblies
• Take ownership of the build area and associated products
• Maintaining accurate, traceable records
• Ensuring strict adherence to Fortescue Zero quality standards
• Using computerised systems to maintain build data integrity
• Comply with all Health, Safety and Environmental guidance and regulations
• Drive continuous improvement activities
• Reporting issues within the work area and resolving them where appropriate.
• Maintaining the working area to acceptable cleanliness and safety standards

About You
• Job holder must possess a suitable manufacturing qualification or equivalent experience.
• Experience of working in a mechanical or electrical engineering environment
• Mechanical manufacturing, build knowledge & ability
• Good working knowledge of proprietary PC software e.g. MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint
• Ability to use initiative and respond quickly to problems
• Flexible working approach
• Organised, precise and pragmatic approach to work
• Ability to work and operate in a team environment
• Excellent communication skills Ability to maintain high standards of staff and department presentation, as appropriate for a facility visited by potential customers and other VIP’s
