About the position

The Workforce Program Coordinator at the Center for Energy and Environment (CEE) plays a crucial role in coordinating recruitment, outreach, and retention efforts for CEE's workforce programs. This position is designed for an individual with experience in outreach, recruitment, and coordination within employment services or workforce development programs, particularly in a non-profit or social service context. The coordinator will work closely with the Workforce Program Manager and Workforce Training Manager to ensure the success of CEE's initiatives aimed at helping adult and young adult trainees secure careers with family-sustaining wages in the energy efficiency sector. Participants in the workforce programs may face various barriers to employment, including housing and food insecurity, prior justice involvement, and chemical health dependency. Therefore, the ideal candidate will be adept at engaging with communities of color, immigrant and refugee populations, and individuals experiencing economic hardship. The role also involves expanding partnerships with local community groups, nonprofits, high schools, workforce agencies, and technical colleges to enhance the reach and effectiveness of CEE's workforce programming. CEE is a community-based clean energy nonprofit dedicated to providing practical energy solutions that reduce energy waste and harmful emissions. Responsibilities
• Plan outreach and recruitment efforts to support CEE's Workforce programs.

• Present and engage with local community groups, high schools, workforce agencies, and technical colleges to assist in recruitment and retention strategies.

• Build effective relationships with organizations in the metro area and expand outreach into Greater Minnesota.
,
• Assist with the registration of new participants and provide clear communication regarding the enrollment process.
,
• Identify new nonprofits, workforce agencies, and technical colleges to enhance workforce programming for energy efficiency careers.
,
• Attend or host job fairs and other events to recruit potential participants.
,
• Determine program eligibility of participants and manage referrals to ensure they meet eligibility guidelines.
,
• Manage emails in the Career Training inbox and respond to inquiries regarding the Workforce Development program.
,
• Refer individuals to other programs or community agencies when CEE's Workforce Program is not suitable.
,
• Collaborate with Career Navigators from partner organizations to ensure trainee retention and address social service needs.
,
• Attend meetings with Case Management or Navigator staff to address client obstacles and identify solutions.
,
• Provide follow-up career navigation services after trainees complete the workforce program.
,
• Assist the Workforce team with day-to-day logistics of training implementation, including catering and classroom preparation.
,
• Coordinate with Accounting and Human Resources for payment information of classroom participants and trainees.
,
• Lead process improvement efforts in tracking workforce program participants and maintain the tracking system in a database.
,
• Maintain communication with graduates and provide follow-up contact to ensure they are connected to training or employment opportunities.

• Track participant outcomes and compile data for reporting to utilities.

Requirements
• 1-3 years' experience in community outreach, recruitment, and coordination for employment services or workforce development programs in a non-profit or social service setting.

• Knowledge of best practices in community partnership building, particularly with BIPOC communities in workforce development.
,
• Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public presentation skills.
,
• Ability to work self-directed and independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively in a team environment.
,
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
,
• Proven ability to work with Microsoft Office suite of products.
,
• Must have a valid driver's license.

Nice-to-haves
• Ability to speak and communicate effectively in languages in addition to English, such as Somali, Spanish, Oromo, Amharic, Karen, or Hmong.

• Previous lived or professional experience in a workforce or career training program.

• Database experience.
