The Northern Land Council is seeking a full-time Work Health & Safety Operations Lead based in Darwin or Katherine, NT, Australia. The role involves providing guidance on health and safety practices, coaching internal stakeholders, and enhancing a safety-first culture. Candidates should have significant experience in WH&S, strong analytical skills, and the ability to travel within the Top End. A diploma in WH&S and relevant experience are required.

About The Role

If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! The NLC is currently recruiting for a Work Health & Safety (WH&S) Operations Lead.

This role will be overall responsible for providing guidance, support, and coaching to internal stakeholders, ensuring compliance and knowledge capabilities are strengthened about wellbeing, health, safety @ work (WH&S@W) risk process. Furthermore, it will contribute to enhancing a safety-first and collaborative culture at the NLC.

What You Will Bring

A background that demonstrates you are highly experienced in managing and maintaining all facets of work, wellbeing, health and safety matters, however you will work within a dedicated WH&S team.

Abilities to coach and mentor supervisors in a collaborative manner to develop their WH&S knowledge is essential. Experience in facilitating risk workshops and, assisting in the development of safety process to build proactive risk management skills in staff is a must. Being interpersonal and hold strong cross-cultural competency and stakeholder engagement skills is required. Understanding key process in emergency management and, incident, injury and workers compensation case management is a requirement. Having strong analytical skills and attention to detail is needed, 'close enough' is not good enough for WH&S@W!

In addition to this, you will have: -
• Diploma of WH&S and minimum of 5 years’ practical experience in a similar role OR minimum 8 years’ practical experience in a similar role.
• Experience working in an Aboriginal or community-based context is a plus.
• Current full NT drivers licence and the ability to travel remotely via 4WD and light aircraft.

• This position has a commencing base salary of $110,763 per annum
• In addition to base salary, you will receive:
• 14.5% superannuation;
• District allowance starting at $2,539 per annum
• Upon completion of 12 months of service an Annual airfare with a net (in hand) value of $2,724;
• Generous leave entitlements such as 5 weeks annual leave, leaving loading, 18 days personal leave, and paid Christmas close down;
• Salary packaging benefits of up to $15,900 and additional Meal Entertainment and Holiday Accommodation benefits up to $2,650 per year.
