You'll be working from our East Coast Hub, a £14m, state-of-the-art facility in the Port of Grimsby. The world's largest offshore wind operations and maintenance centre, the East Coast Hub is home to more than 600 of our team, who all make a contribution to ensure our windfarms are operating at their optimum.

Welcome to Hornsea 02 Offshore Operations

You'll be part of East Coast Hub where you, together with your colleagues, will utilise software systems to accurately record all elements of your daily work including hours worked, spare parts used and technical work order reports. You'll prepare and pack spare parts, tools and other equipment for all elements of maintenance work. You'll perform general cleaning across site, e.g. turbines, onshore facilities, storage, vessels, etc. You must be proactive in maintaining your competence level and the safety certification required for the job. You are also responsible for the condition of own safety equipment: Life vest, helmet, fall arrest harness etc.

As a team, we are looking for people who are comfortable working from either:
• One of our Service Operations Vessel where you will work offshore on two week shifts with some unsociable hours.
• Or working seven- day shifts traveling daily between Grimsby and one of our near shore windfarms.

You'll play an important role in:
• driving a positive safety culture through your actions
• performing troubleshooting and repair of electrical and mechanical components
• servicing and maintaining offshore wind turbines
• servicing and maintaining balance of plant equipment
• some technicians will perform the duties of an Authorised Person on HV equipment.

To succeed in the role, you:
• have a full apprenticeship in a relevant discipline, such as electrical or mechanical engineering. Preferably, with further qualifications, such as BTEC or HNC
• meet the physical, medical and psychological requirements for working offshore where applicable for up to 2 weeks with unsociable hours.
• have an aptitude for working at heights and in restricted or confined spaces.
• are a team player with a calm and controlled approach to problem-solving.
• are well-experienced in troubleshooting on mechanical and electrical components and adept in using your own initiative to complete tasks.
• are self-motivated and enjoy working both independently and as a member of a team.

For those working at our far shore locations, you will work from and live on a service operations vessel (SOV) which will remain at sea for 2 weeks at a time, so you should ensure that any dependents can be catered for in your absence and your happy with being away from family and friends. We will also ask you to undertake any training and take your holidays in your 2 weeks off shift, for which you will be compensated. Maintenance and troubleshooting work is expected to take place from the SOV on a 24-hour basis, so some working at unsocial hours may be required. We also utilise transport by helicopter, and helicopter hoisting for access to turbines. Technicians involved in helicopter operations will either be based on the SOV, or onshore based.

For those working at our near shore locations, you will be expected to work 11-to-12-hour days, for a 7-day shift, commuting by crew transfer vessel from out hub in Grimsby to one of our windfarms. Due to the length of the working day, you will need to live in easy commuting distance of Grimsby. We may also utilise transport by helicopter, and helicopter hoisting for access to turbines.

We will be conducting an assessment day on the 18th of March 2025.

Maybe you've read the above and can see you have some transferable skills, even though they don't quite match all the points. If you think you can bring something to the team, we still encourage you to apply.
