Energy Jobline is hiring an AT-Qualified Wind Turbine Technician for a full-time, permanent position in Duns, Scotland. The technician will service, maintain, and troubleshoot Vestas wind turbines, ensuring compliance with health and safety standards. Candidates should have experience in electrical and mechanical systems, GWO certifications, and the ability to work independently and in teams. A driving licence is required for travel between sites.
Wind Turbine Service (Onshore)

Scottish Borders

Full-time, Permanent

£35,000 - £55,000 per annum DOE + Benefits

We are seeking an AT-Qualified Wind Turbine Technician to join an onshore team in Scotland. The role will involve servicing, maintaining, and troubleshooting Vestas wind turbines across various sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in wind turbine technology, electrical and mechanical systems, and health & safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities
• Perform scheduled maintenance and servicing of Vestas onshore wind turbines.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot faults in mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems.
• Conduct repairs and component replacements as required.
• Carry out Authorised Technician (AT) responsibilities, including HV switching where necessary.
• Utilise diagnostic tools and software to monitor turbine performance.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental (HSE) standards.
• Work independently and as part of a team to meet performance targets.
• Maintain accurate service records and reports on all work completed.
• Support site commissioning, upgrades, and inspections as needed.

Requirements
• Authorised Technician (AT) Qualification with experience in HV operations.
• Qualified in electrical, mechanical, or renewable energy engineering
• GWO (Global Wind Organisation) certifications.
• Proven experience working on Vestas onshore turbines (V82, V90, V112, V136, etc.).
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills in electrical, mechanical, and hydraulic systems.
• Full UK driving licence and ability to travel between sites.
• Ability to work in remote locations and adverse weather conditions.
• Strong commitment to health and safety.

Desirable Skills
• Additional manufacturer-specific training (e.g., Vestas Service Technician Certification).
• Experience with SCADA and remote monitoring systems.
• HV (High Voltage) switching certification beyond AT level.
• Training in troubleshooting and component exchange for Vestas platforms.
