Wind Technician Intern

Clearway Energy Group is seeking a Wind Technician Intern in Petersburg, NE. The intern will assist with maintenance of wind turbine components, ensuring safe and efficient operation. Responsibilities include following safety procedures, documenting work, troubleshooting, and maintaining tools. Candidates should be able to climb heights, work in confined spaces, and possess basic mechanical and electrical skills. The position is not eligible for remote work and requires a valid driver's license.
What The Role Is

Reporting to the Wind Site Lead the Wind Intern is responsible for assisting in the performance of wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance. The primary objective is to maintain safe, effective, efficient, and profitable wind turbine operation. This position will be located at Laredo Ridge Wind Farm.

What You'll Be Doing
• Follow safety procedures, observe safe working practices, and maintain a safe working environment.
• Assist in the performance of wind turbine mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical component maintenance.
• Document all work performed, parts used, and time spent.
• Assist in troubleshooting and repair, Annual Maintenance cycle, oil changes, and Main Component Exchanges
• Maintain hand tools in good working order and well organized.
• Willingness to progress as a technician and take guidance from superiors.

What You'll Bring
• Able to climb towers unassisted up to 300 feet. Job will require standing outside the nacelle and nosecone at the top of the turbine.
• Able to work safely in a confined space.
• Must possess a valid driver's license and good driving record.
• Possess demonstrable mechanical aptitude and basic electrical knowledge. Able to work with electrical wires and differentiate between color coded wires.
• Able to safely work in a wide range of adverse climates and environments.
• Knowledge of and the ability to use various hand tools.

What Would Be Nice
• Ability to read schematics and wiring diagrams is preferred.

The pay rate for the successful candidate will depend on geographic location, skills, relevant and demonstrated experience, education, training and certifications, and other factors permitted by law. This role is eligible to earn an annual cash bonus, subject to personal and company performance goals.

Salary Range Across all U.S. Locations
$42,640—$42,640 USD
