Portland General Electric is seeking a Wind Plant Maintenance Engineer in Rufus, OR. As a Wind Plant Maintenance Engineer in Rufus, OR, you will play a critical role in ensuring the safety, reliability, and efficiency of our wind energy facilities. In this role, you'll leverage your engineering expertise to solve complex operations and maintenance challenges, contributing to the sustainability of our renewable energy resources. You will perform engineering and technical tasks in support of wind generation plant operations, including maintaining plant SCADA (Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition) and plant performance data with GADS (Generation Availability Data System). You will provide in-depth technical expertise to develop, manage, and implement engineering activities related to plant safety, reliability, maintainability, and availability ensuring compliance with customer needs, regulatory requirements, and corporate policies. You will be accountable for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of work ensuring proper configuration management. In addition, you will provide technical expertise and consultation through direct involvement to identify and resolve equipment and system problems. You will recommend equipment, new concepts, and techniques to improve performance, simplify construction, reduce costs, correct design, or material flaws, or comply with changes in codes or regulations. You will support plant design modifications, testing, and problem-solving. Collaboration is key, as you will work with internal and external teams, sharing your professional insights and coordinating tasks to ensure successful project execution. You will also be a leader in the field by sharing your expertise in the latest technologies and processes, mentoring junior engineers, and supporting training initiatives, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Responsibilities

• Manage engineering issues and recommend equipment, new concepts, and techniques to improve performance and reduce costs.

• Share expertise in the latest technologies and processes, mentor junior engineers, and support training initiatives.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in an applicable engineering discipline, preferably from an ABET-accredited program or an equivalent accreditation agency.

• A minimum of two years of professional experience in engineering, preferably within the energy sector.

• Passing the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam is strongly preferred; may be required depending on the role.

• Strong knowledge of engineering and economic principles, with the ability to apply this knowledge to solve complex plant maintenance challenges.

• Proficiency in plant mechanical, electrical, and control systems, as well as knowledge of construction feasibility, procurement, and contract administration.

• Ability to analyze technical information and develop innovative solutions to meet operational needs.

• Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively present ideas to both technical and non-technical audiences.
