Job Description

The Virginia Department of Wildlife Resources is seeking a Wildlife Management Area Action Plan Intern to assist with habitat and infrastructure management on public lands. The intern will engage in conservation planning and work closely with staff on three-year planning cycles. This position offers valuable experience in habitat management and fosters teamwork and communication within the department.
The incumbent will assist with public lands planning for management of habitat and infrastructure on Wildlife Management Areas (WMA). This intern will work on conservation planning on WMA Work Units to guide staff in 3-year planning blocks to improve efficiency of management actions on WMAs, similar for 3-year infrastructure plans as well. The successful intern will gain experience in annual planning for selected habitat regimes across the entire inventory of DWR public lands.
