Responsibilities
• Review recommendations and data input from Field/District offices on wildlife issues.

• Provide guidance and quality control to projects and products by other resource specialists.

• Identify impacts to wildlife habitat and Threatened and Endangered species by other resource activities.

• Coordinate with the Lead Wildlife Biologist, local interest groups, Tribal Councils, and other federal agencies on biological decisions.

• Serve on interdisciplinary teams responsible for writing and reviewing biological input to environmental assessments and resource management plans.

• Evaluate inventory and monitoring data to determine population trends and impacts.
,
• Formulate strategies designed to recover or mitigate impacts on wildlife.

Requirements
• U.S. Citizenship is required.

• Basic Education Requirement: Degree in biological science with specific coursework in wildlife subjects, zoology, and botany.

• For GS-07: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-05 or one year of graduate education in wildlife biology.

• For GS-09: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-07 or two years of graduate education in wildlife biology.

• For GS-11: One year of specialized experience equivalent to GS-09 or three years of graduate education in wildlife biology.
