JOB OPPORTUNITY
Cedar Corporation is a growing company that offers a professional, yet flexible work environment. We are seeking a Wetland Scientist with a keen interest in the natural sciences. The candidate will work closely with project managers, staff scientists, and senior scientists with development and delivery of environmental assessments for projects involving private industry, public infrastructure, and utilities. RESPONSIBILITIES
• Wetland delineation and assessment.
• Create mapping of wetland resources.
• Summarize findings in a comprehensive report.
• Record with WDNR under the Assured Delineator Program or wetland confirmation service.
• Developing concepts, monitoring and reporting on wetland mitigation and restoration projects.
• Prepare wetland mitigation bank design and assessment
• Assist with ecological restoration planning and site monitoring
• Conduct wildlife habitat and botanical surveys
• Coordinate construction and restoration activities with property owners and contractors.
• Build relationships with government agencies to create a streamlined authorization process.
QUALIFICATIONS
• 5+ years of environmental/wetland field experience is preferred.
• Bachelor's degree in environmental science, geology, geography, soil science, or biology.
• Excellent computer skills with MS Office; GIS and/AutoCAD knowledge.
• Strong communication, technical writing, time management, and organization skills.
• Ability to work independently with direction from project team members.
• Ability and willingness to travel for short-term and long-term field assignments, as needed.
• Professional Wetland Assurance Certification is pre
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to walk up to five miles and lift up to 50 lbs.
• Understanding of regulatory compliance and permitting programs at the federal, state, and local levels.
