As a Water Resources Project Manager in the Environmental Engineering Industry, you will be responsible for leading and managing various water resources projects to ensure the successful delivery of high-quality solutions.

In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including engineers, scientists, and technicians, to develop and execute project plans that align with client requirements and regulatory standards. You will oversee the entire project lifecycle, from conceptualization and feasibility studies to design, construction, and commissioning.

Responsibilities
• In this position, you will apply your knowledge of principles of hydrology and hydraulics to respond to a broad range of water resources engineering assignments in surface-water riverine and estuarine environments to:
• Study open channel flow, sediment transport, scour, stability, and deposition issues in rivers and reservoirs
• Estimate flood hazards and risks
• Develop mitigation measures and alternatives for watersheds, including flood forecasting and inundation mapping
• Evaluate complex water resource systems including watersheds receiving rain and snow
• Perform integrated hydrologic modeling including potential impacts on surface and groundwater due to climate changes
• Conduct dam/levee engineering and safety investigations, including dam breach analysis, feasibility planning, operations studies, drainage analysis, and water control manual updates
• Work as part of a project team to develop high-quality deliverables for our clients
• Other duties may be assigned
• Develop, calibrate, and validate hydrologic and hydraulic numerical models
• Delineate floodplains and create flood hazard maps
• Design hydraulic structures such as bridges, culverts, levees, and fish passages
• Design systems for scour countermeasures and streambank erosion protection
• Prepare technical reports, memoranda, and manuals
• Work closely with internal project teams and clients on specific assignments or for other meetings
• Ensure that all scheduled project deliverables are produced on time
• Manage outside subconsultant activities and deliverables as required
• Monitor project budgets and prepare monthly office billing instructions in coordination with the office manager and bookkeeper
• Provide guidance to staff to assist in their technical and professional development
• Present communication pertaining to specific assignments or meetings
• Participate in local engineering organizations or conferences
• Expand your technical and non-technical engineering skills through continuous learning
• Participate in business development/marketing, which may include the creation/review of office proposals, project schedules, budgets, and project milestones
• Coordinate and communicate with internal and external clients
• Use GIS tools to pre- and post-process data
• Organize, manipulate, and evaluate data using spreadsheets or other engineering software
• Prepare figures, maps, and graphics

Requirements
• PE registration are required
• Have a minimum of eight years of related experience
• Skill Requirements: In addition to being enthusiastic about working in the field of water resources, the successful candidate should have the following skills:
• Experience with the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Hydrologic Engineering Center (HEC), and other numerical models, such as HEC-RAS, and HEC-HMS
• Experience with GIS software
• Excellent communication skills including technical writing competence
• Ability to work independently and manage time, as well as to work in a team
• Excellent problem-solving abilities, including the ability to apply ingenuity and creativity in solving complex engineering problems
• Bachelors degree or higher in civil or environmental engineering or water resources-related field is required
