Advance Training and Recruitment Services is hiring a Water Resources Modelling Manager to lead the development of water resource models using tools like PYWR, Aquator, or MISER. The role involves ensuring sustainable operations, shaping water policy, and collaborating with stakeholders. The position offers a salary of £55,000 – 70,000, is permanent and full-time, and allows for remote work with occasional travel to the Bradford office.

Type: Permanent, full-time (37 hours per week, Monday-Friday)
About the Role:
We have an exciting opportunity for a Water Resources Modelling Manager to join the Strategy & Regulation team at our client. In this role, you will lead the development of water resource models using advanced tools such as PYWR, Aquator, or MISER. You will ensure sustainable operations for water production assets by evaluating the impacts of growth, climate change, and drought. You’ll also play a pivotal role in shaping both regional and national water policy.

Key Responsibilities:
• Act as the technical expert for hydrology, water resource modelling, and climate change adaptation.
• Develop water resource models using PYWR, Aquator, or MISER to inform operational and strategic decision-making.
• Lead the creation of 5-year Water Resource Management Plans and regional plans, producing supply forecasts and drought assessments.
• Ensure water resource planning models are robust, audited, and aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Provide specialist advice on reservoir control rules, drought orders, and compliance-related issues.
• Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to support production planning and regulatory submissions.
What Our Client is Looking For:
• A minimum of a Master’s degree in Hydrology, Civil Engineering, or a related field.
• At least 5 years of experience in water resources, with proficiency in using PYWR, Aquator, or MISER.
• A track record of developing sustainable strategies to meet challenging business and environmental targets.
• Strong communication and leadership skills, with experience engaging stakeholders (e.g., regulatory bodies, other water companies).
• Proven experience with technical report writing and corporate presentations.
• A valid UK driving licence (maximum of 6 points).
