About the position

Gannett Fleming is seeking a dedicated and experienced Mid-Level Stormwater Engineer to join their Northeast Roadway Water Resources Group. This role involves working on stormwater engineering projects for highway and rail clients across the tri-state area and New England, with a focus on design, modeling, and environmental permitting.

Responsibilities
• Design highway drainage systems and Green Infrastructure/stormwater management facilities.

• Perform hydrologic watershed modeling.
,
• Develop hydraulic models for bridge and culvert replacements.
,
• Conduct bridge scour analyses and design scour countermeasures.
,
• Develop construction plans.
,
• Prepare environmental permit applications.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Mechanical Engineering.
,
• Professional Engineer license in NY, NJ, CT and/or MA or the ability to obtain with reciprocity.
,
• 5 to 10 years of experience in stormwater engineering for roadway and/or rail projects.
,
• Proficiency in MicroStation, StormCAD, PondPack, HEC-RAS, Excel, Word.
,
• Direct experience completing projects with public sector/municipal agencies in Greater New York, New Jersey, Connecticut, or Massachusetts.
,
• Experience securing permits from environmental agencies authorizing floodplain impacts, wetland impacts, and erosion & sediment control designs.
,
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
,
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
,
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team environment.
