About the position

Colliers Engineering & Design is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to join our Water Resources Group. This role is pivotal in managing and executing projects related to hydrology and hydraulics modeling, stormwater management design, and ensuring compliance with Flood Hazard Area and Dam Safety Permitting. The ideal candidate will be involved in a variety of tasks that support the development and implementation of stormwater management strategies, focusing on green infrastructure and low impact development. This position offers a unique opportunity to contribute to projects that have a significant impact on environmental sustainability and community safety. As an Assistant Project Manager, you will support and/or lead stormwater management projects, which will include performing hydrologic and hydraulic analyses, designing Stormwater Management Best Management Practices (BMPs), and preparing Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPP). You will also be responsible for conducting water quality compliance calculations, soil erosion and sediment control, and performing flood studies using tools such as HEC-RAS and USEPA-SWMM. Additionally, the role involves dam assessments, rehabilitation design, dam breach analysis, and hazard classification, as well as navigating the permitting processes for Flood Hazard Areas and Dam Safety. Colliers Engineering & Design values collaboration and teamwork, and as such, you will assist other departments with their engineering and technical support needs. Strong communication skills are essential, as you will be involved in report and proposal writing, ensuring that all project documentation meets the required standards and effectively communicates project goals and outcomes.

Responsibilities
• Support and/or lead stormwater management projects focused on green infrastructure and low impact development as well as stormwater infrastructure improvements.

• Perform hydrologic/hydraulic analyses.

• Design Stormwater Management BMP's.

• Prepare SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans).

• Conduct water quality compliance calculations.
,
• Implement soil erosion and sediment control measures.

• Perform flood studies with HEC-RAS and USEPA-SWMM.

• Conduct dam assessments and rehabilitation design.

• Perform dam breach analysis and hazard classification.

• Manage Flood Hazard Area and Dam Safety permitting processes.

• Assist other departments with engineering and technical support needs.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

• 5+ years of related water resources experience.

• PE (Professional Engineer) preferred.

• Knowledge of state regulations, particularly in New Jersey.

• Proficiency in technical skills related to stormwater management, hydraulics, hydrological analysis, grading, and site development designs.

• Demonstrated skills in Civil 3D.

• Ability to interact well with coworkers, clients, and regulatory agencies.
