Resource Central is hiring a seasonal Water Conservation Technician in Denver, CO, starting June 1, 2026, at $20.00/hour. The role involves conducting sprinkler system checkups and educating residents on water conservation practices. This field-based position requires daily travel to various locations along the Colorado Front Range. Candidates should have excellent customer service skills and a valid driver's license. Job Purpose - Water scarcity is one of the biggest issues in Colorado, and Resource Central’s Slow the Flow program partners with over 40 Colorado municipalities and water providers to empower residents to save water through efficient irrigation practices. To date, Slow the Flow has helped Colorado residents save over 200 million gallons of water! Join our team as a Water Conservation Technician to help further our impact by completing sprinkler system checkups and providing simple recommendations to reduce water use on lawns.
This is a full-time, field-based position that involves daily driving from home to sprinkler evaluation appointments. Fieldwork is along the Colorado Front Range, primarily in and around Fort Collins, Longmont, Boulder, Westminster, Denver, or Parker; appointments are typically assigned within 30 miles of a technician’s residence. The position starts June 1, 2026 and is expected to last into August or September 2026. Compensation includes $20.00/hr base pay, opportunities to earn bonuses based on exceptional attendance, mileage reimbursement, cell phone stipend, paid training, and accrued paid sick leave. Principal Responsibilities
The essential duties of this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
• Help people conserve water by conducting sprinkler system checkups at homes, businesses, and other properties; we provide training.
• Travel from home to worksite locations daily; appointment locations are assigned to minimize technician commute times when possible; we provide mileage reimbursement.
• Test sprinkler systems and program sprinkler control clocks to improve system performance and provide a more efficient watering schedule.
• Educate homeowners and business owners on best practices in outdoor water use.
• Participate in regularly scheduled meetings in person, online, and on the phone.
• Assist with other Slow the Flow tasks or Resource Central programs as assigned.
• Foster Inclusion to help build a strong sense of belonging by ensuring everyone feels welcomed, valued, and included at Resource Central.
Qualifications
• Outstanding customer service skills and ability to maintain a positive, solution-oriented attitude is required.
• Must be at least 18 years of age upon start date.
• Valid driver’s license, automobile insurance, daily access to a reliable automobile, and a smartphone required.
• Must pass and maintain a clean background check and driving record evaluation if offered a position.
• Daily travel to worksites in and around either Fort Collins, Longmont, Boulder, Westminster, Denver, or Parker required; appointments are typically assigned within 30 miles of a technician’s residence.
• Ability to safely lift 30 pounds, walk continuously throughout the workday, kneel, lift, and bend repeatedly required.
• Ability to safely work outdoors in all kinds of weather including high temperatures and rain required.
• Experience in fieldwork, landscaping, sprinklers, or sustainability preferred.
• Bilingual skills are a plus.
