About the position

Mead & Hunt is seeking a full-time Wastewater & Renewable Energy Engineer to join their growing team. This role involves managing wastewater design and evaluation projects, conducting technical design tasks, and providing mentorship to junior staff. The engineer will also engage in market research to support business development in the wastewater and renewable energy sectors, ensuring quality control and managing client relationships.

Responsibilities
• Performing and overseeing technical design tasks
,
• Carrying out studies/evaluations and treatment process analyses; writing technical reports
,
• Mentoring and providing technical guidance to project team and junior staff
,
• Conducting market and technology research to support client projects and business development efforts
,
• Serving as the project manager for wastewater design and evaluation projects and feasibility studies
,
• Managing project budgets, schedules, and deliverables
,
• Ensuring quality control and quality assurance reviews
,
• Supporting project development and proposals, including scope and price development, drafting technical proposals, and coordinating proposal tasks
,
• Managing client relationships; coordinating and leading client meetings and correspondence
,
• Assisting in project on-site commissioning activities
,
• Representing the company at industry events such as conferences or trade shows, when assigned

Requirements
• A bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil, chemical, environmental or related engineering from an accredited college or university
,
• At least eight years of relevant experience
,
• Knowledge of wastewater treatment process design and technologies, including aerobic and anaerobic biological systems and biogas treatment and utilization
,
• Successful project management experience (achieving targets for scope, schedule and budget)
,
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
,
• Effective verbal and written communication skills
,
• Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritize while calmly working under pressure to meet deadlines and changing demands
,
• Demonstrated ability as a critical thinker with strong problem-solving and research proficiencies
,
• Experience with project management across project phases: conceptual/preliminary design, detailed design, construction, and commissioning phases
,
• Experience mentoring and providing technical guidance to staff
,
• Client management experience
,
• Experience coordinating and managing multi-disciplinary teams
,
• A passion for sustainable industries

Nice-to-haves
• Experience aiding in construction and life cycle cost estimates

• Experience with EPC or design-build project delivery
