Responsibilities
• Prepare for resale events, including advertising and organizing items for resale.

• Oversee resale events, guiding coworkers and customers on processes and payments.

• Inspect loads to intercept reusable items before disposal.
,
• Assist the public with correct disposal of materials at recycling drop-off areas.
,
• Provide guidance on County waste reduction and recycling programs.
,
• Ensure facility safety by providing traffic control and overseeing unloading of recyclables.
,
• Verify accuracy of account transactions and prepare cash deposits for the Reuse Facility.
,
• Conduct research on technical, regulatory, or market issues related to reuse materials.
,
• Assist in planning and implementing public education programs on waste reduction and recycling.
,
• Assist with professional service agreements for waste reduction and recycling services.
,
• Develop and maintain annual waste reduction and recycling reports and databases.
,
• Provide backup assistance with forklift and heavy equipment operation.
,
• Assist with hazardous waste program elements and special events.

Requirements
• Equivalent to completion of an associate's degree (60 semester or 90 quarter units).
,
• Two years of full-time experience in solid waste management or waste reduction/recycling programs, including customer service or cash register experience.
,
• Successful completion of 40-hours of Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) training within the first three months of employment.
,
• Valid California driver's license, Class C or higher.
