Location: Dallas, TX
Are you passionate about sustainability and waste reduction? Join us as a Waste Management Specialist at our Dallas, TX plant. Reporting directly to the Plant Manager, you'll play a key role in minimizing waste and supporting lean manufacturing goals.
Key Responsibilities
• Oversee the complete waste stream management.
• Input waste data daily.
• Collaborate with key stakeholders to enhance our lean site strategy.
• Utilize lean methodologies to achieve a 5% year-over-year waste reduction.
• Foster a culture of engagement and continuous improvement.
• Ensure project completion aligns with corporate objectives.
• Benchmark best practices in waste management.
• Identify and address gaps in waste reporting processes.
• Conduct raw and work-in-progress cycle counts.
• Analyze inventory discrepancies and adjust as needed.
• Present waste data to the management team.
• Work with quality and production leaders on root cause analysis of waste issues.
• Provide statistical data for the prevention of waste.
• Drive actionable outcomes from team discussions to the production floor.
• Contribute to the monthly waste champion review sessions.
• Adhere to safety policies and clerical tasks as necessary.
Qualifications
• High school diploma or GED required, college degree preferred.
• At least three years of related experience.
• Background in the corrugated industry is advantageous.
• Strong command over written and spoken English.
• Competence with basic and advanced math, including algebra.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
• Excellent analytical, reasoning, and technical skills.
• Ability to lead waste reduction initiatives effectively.
Work Environment & Physical Demands
Your work will mainly involve standing, walking, and communicating. Expect to occasionally handle materials or move around machinery. The work environment may include exposure to humid conditions, mechanical parts, and potential noise.
