Vice President of Third Party Risk Management

Hamlyn Williams is seeking a Vice President of Third Party Risk Management in New York, NY. This role involves leading the operational risk management team, enhancing the bank's third-party risk framework, and collaborating with various stakeholders to manage risks associated with third-party relationships. Candidates should have over 8 years of experience in operational risk, a bachelor's degree, and a strong understanding of regulatory requirements.
Role Summary:

Our foreign banking client is looking to grow their operational risk management team within their third-party risk management division. The VP of Operational Risk – TPRM will play a critical leadership role in overseeing and enhancing the bank's third-party risk framework. This individual will partner with key stakeholders across the enterprise to assess, monitor, and manage risks associated with the bank’s third-party relationships, ensuring alignment with regulatory expectations and internal policies.

Key Responsibilities
• Lead the Third-Party Risk Management program within the Operational Risk function, ensuring effective governance, oversight, and control practices.
• Develop and maintain third-party risk frameworks, policies, and procedures in alignment with OCC, FRB, and FFIEC guidance.
• Collaborate with procurement, legal, compliance, and business units to ensure robust third-party onboarding and due diligence.
• Conduct risk assessments and monitoring activities across the third-party lifecycle, including ongoing risk reviews and issue remediation tracking.
• Advise senior management on third-party risk trends, key exposures, and potential emerging risks.
• Oversee reporting and escalation of TPRM metrics and issues to senior management and risk committees.
• Support internal audits, regulatory exams, and validation activities related to TPRM.
• Serve as a subject matter expert on operational risk and third-party risk, contributing to training and awareness initiatives across the bank.

Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree or professional certification (e.g., CRVPM, CTPRP, CRCM, or equivalent) preferred.
• 8+ years of experience in operational risk, third-party risk, or enterprise risk management, ideally within the financial services sector.
• Deep understanding of regulatory requirements and industry standards related to TPRM (e.g., OCC Bulletin 2013-29, FFIEC).
• Strong analytical, communication, and project management skills.
• Ability to influence and collaborate across multiple levels and functions in a complex environment.
• Experience with risk tools and systems (e.g., Archer, ServiceNow GRC, or similar platforms) a plus
