About this Role

MSCI is seeking a Climate Specialist for the New York office to support the growth of the Climate solutions business—an area of strategic importance within MSCI. The role involves working with MSCI’s sales and relationship management teams to advocate for and demonstrate the value of MSCI’s leading Climate solutions. The candidate should have significant climate expertise, specifically in physical climate risk, and experience with financial institutions. The appointed individual will engage with clients to promote product understanding and usage, aid in achieving investment, risk, and regulatory objectives with MSCI Climate analytics, and identify opportunities for enhancing product adoption. They will collaborate closely with the Climate Research and Product teams to influence product development based on market needs. This role is integral to shaping one of MSCI’s rapidly growing sectors.
Responsibilities
• Serve as a domain expert for MSCI’s Climate solutions in client-facing and pre-sales engagements.
• Partner with relationship managers and sales teams to support new business development, renewals, and account expansion.
• Engage directly with clients to help them understand and implement MSCI Climate analytics, including physical and transition risk methodologies.
• Deliver compelling product demonstrations, workshops, and training sessions that support commercial objectives.
• Respond to client inquiries and coordinate resolution with servicing, product, and research teams.
• Support commercial strategies across key financial segments, such as banks, insurers, asset managers, and asset owners.
• Identify and communicate opportunities for deeper product adoption, helping drive revenue growth in partnership with sales teams.
• Collaborate closely with MSCI Climate Research and Product teams to provide client-driven insights that inform product development and roadmap prioritization.
Requirements
• Strong understanding of investing and financial markets, with the ability to connect climate insights to commercial and client priorities.
• Deep climate expertise, ideally including experience assessing or applying physical climate risk.
• Experience working at a bank, financial institution, or institutional investor, with an understanding of how climate considerations influence investment and risk processes.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage institutional clients.
• Commercially oriented, client-focused mindset with a passion for contributing to business growth.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives independently in a fast-paced, sales-driven environment.
• Collaborative team player who can work effectively across sales, research, product, and client service functions.
• Highest standards of personal and business integrity.
• 7+ years of experience, ideally in a client-facing, commercial, or analytical role related to climate, sustainability, or financial services.
• Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s degree preferred.
