Vice President - Sustainable Investing - Private Markets

Madison Hunt is seeking a Vice President of Sustainable Investing for a private markets platform in New York. This role involves integrating environmental and social factors into investment strategies, overseeing sustainability programs, and leading climate risk initiatives. The ideal candidate will have over 10 years of experience in sustainability within private markets, strong communication skills, and a passion for sustainable finance. The position is full-time with a salary range of $220K–$260K.
Madison Hunt is partnering with a leading private markets platform in New York to hire a Vice President of Sustainability. Reporting into the Global Head, this role will drive the firm’s efforts to integrate environmental and social considerations into its private markets strategies, focusing on financially material analysis, due diligence, and risk management. The manager will develop frameworks, lead climate risk initiatives, and create investor communications while collaborating with deal teams and supporting fundraising efforts. This is a unique opportunity to shape the firm’s sustainability goals and contribute to positive environmental and social outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:
• Oversee and enhance the firm’s sustainability program, ensuring alignment with industry standards and investment goals.
• Integrate sustainability factors into company analysis, due diligence, and portfolio monitoring.
• Develop investor communications and tailored reporting to support fundraising and client engagement.
• Lead climate risk assessments, carbon footprint analysis, and other impact metrics.
• Build relationships with external experts and stay ahead of regulatory and industry trends.
• Collaborate with deal teams to identify and manage sustainability risks and opportunities.
• Drive internal education to embed sustainable investing principles across the firm.

Candidate Requirements:
• Bachelor’s degree and 10+ years of experience in private markets sustainability, ESG consulting, or a related field.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to translate sustainability concepts into actionable insights.
• Proven ability to manage complex projects and build relationships across teams.
• Deep understanding of sustainable investing principles and their application in private markets.
• Passion for aligning investments with positive environmental and social impact.
