Role and Responsibilities
• Identify utility-scale and C&I Energy Storage and Solar business opportunities with utilities, developers and IPPs through collaboration with existing relationships and independent activities including account profiling, cold calls, business networking and other market penetration strategies
• Curate high level relationships with new and current customers (solar developers, financiers, and IPPs) by engaging with key decision makers within the customer’s organization including procurement, engineering, construction, legal, and executive management
• Work side by side with this organization’s experienced engineering and bidding teams to understand customer project-specific needs
• Interface with both internal stakeholders and external customers to transition awarded projects to the internal execution team and support until contracts are signed
• Support internal transaction team through close collaboration to meet internal risk goals and ensure mutually beneficial outcomes and external customer base
• Build and maintain customer relationships on behalf of this organization
• Represent this organization at marketing events such as trade shows and industry events
• Manage the pipeline of EPC opportunities, by tracking progress and next steps for each project/portfolio
• Take the lead on RFP responses by reviewing all documents, understanding SOW and schedule, communicating requirements to pre-construction team, generating proposals, and following up
• Identify customers, portfolio, and project risks and create mitigation strategies.
• Assist team that negotiates LNTPs and EPC Contracts
• Identify and close gaps in feedback loop between engineering, estimating, procurement, and operations to ensure successful partnerships with clients
• Recommend regional business development strategies and tactics to the company’s leadership team by utilizing unique and detailed understanding of geographic markets

Qualifications/Required Experience
• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Construction Management or related field with 7+ years of experience or equivalent. Track record of achievement and career progression
• Strong leadership, diplomatic and motivational skills including the ability to lead up, across and down the organization
• Experience leading, motivating and managing various project and program team sizes, including internal and external resources, while holding team accountable for performance.
• Successfully led and managed complex portfolios valued at $30 million
• Demonstrated success in the Business Development function of an EPC firm
• Sales experience in solar industry, energy services industry, or construction industry
• Experience influencing and gaining buy-in from senior leadership, team members, and peers
• Entrepreneurial with a well-rounded business perspective
• Excellent teamwork, communication and people skills a must
• Has a solid time management system and demonstrates excellent organizational skills
• Working Knowledge of MS Word, Excel, Project, SharePoint and Procore software
• Demonstrated decisiveness in resolving project issues, making decisions and identifying priorities
