The Urban Planner position at Sustainability Engineering Group (SEG) involves assisting with urban and regional planning projects aimed at developing sustainable and functional urban spaces. The role requires collaboration with civil engineers, architects, and other professionals to shape infrastructure and community development in Phoenix, Arizona.

Responsibilities
• Gather and analyze data on land use, population trends, transportation, and infrastructure.

• Research local zoning regulations, environmental laws, and other city planning policies.

• Assist in the preparation of site plans and layouts for new development, public infrastructure, and transportation projects.

• Utilize GIS (Geographic Information Systems) and CAD software to create maps and visual representations of plans.

• Help prepare documentation for zoning and development applications.
,
• Ensure projects comply with local and state regulations, zoning codes, and environmental standards.

• Work closely with civil engineers, project managers, and other professionals to coordinate the design and entitlement of projects.

• Assist in communicating project goals and plans to city officials, residents, and other stakeholders.

• Support community outreach efforts, including public meetings, to gather input from local residents and stakeholders.

Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in Urban Planning, Civil Engineering, Geography, or a related field.

• Prior Engineering, Architecture and/or Landscape firm experience.

• Familiarity with GIS software (ArcGIS, QGIS) and CAD tools (AutoCAD, Civil 3D).
