Primoris Renewable Energy is hiring a full-time Traveling Solar Technician I in Georgia. This role involves frequent overnight travel to solar farms across the U.S., performing diagnosis, repair, and maintenance on solar systems. The technician will ensure customer satisfaction, participate in meetings, and maintain tools and equipment. A valid driver's license is required for driving company vehicles. Safety adherence and professionalism in various work environments are essential.
About the position
Primoris Renewable Energy is seeking a full-time Traveling Solar Technician. This position requires overnight travel on a frequent basis depending on company needs. The Traveling Solar Technician must have the ability to work safely at high quality with electrical & mechanical components, issues and concerns. The role involves performing a full range of diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and oversight of issues that may arise at solar farms across the United States. The technician will be customer-facing and must maintain a professional demeanor and appearance at all times, providing outstanding customer experience. The technician will be responsible for diagnosing a full range of solar service issues, participating in staff meetings, and assisting with broader company initiatives. Daily reports must be provided, and the technician will effectively use hand and power tools, as well as a laptop and various programs/applications. Learning and understanding basic low voltage electrical systems is essential, along with operating machinery and equipment such as skid steers, mini-excavators, backhoes, rock drills, jack hammers, compressors, generators, and winches. Troubleshooting technical issues and maintaining company-owned tools and equipment are also key responsibilities. The technician must act professionally in remote areas, on active construction sites, or in the office, while continually driving self-improvement and motivating excellence in coworkers. Strict adherence to all safety and environmental procedures is mandatory, and the technician must maintain a valid driver's license and clean driving record, as driving long distances in heavy work trucks, often with trailers in tow, is required.
Responsibilities
• Perform a full range of diagnosis, repair, maintenance, and oversight of issues that may arise at a solar farm across the US

• Diagnose a full range of solar service issues

• Provide outstanding customer experience while maintaining a professional demeanor and appearance

• Travel using own vehicle or in company owned vehicle

• Participate in staff meetings and assist with broader company initiatives

• Effectively use a laptop and a variety of programs/applications

Requirements
• Minimum 1 year working in the renewable energy industry or relevant experience from another industry
,
• Great safety track record
,
• Knowledge of all major solar and energy storage products
,
• Training on top tier inverters a plus
,
• Must be highly organized and punctual
,
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
,
• Must have a valid driver's license and pass background check and physical
,
• Must have the ability to work through issues and troubleshoot safely
,
• Accommodate frequent travel
,
• Work as a member of a small team, as well as independently in the field
,
• Must be able to work in various positions, including standing, stooping, bending over, sitting, kneeling and squatting for extended periods of time
,
• Have full range of mobility in upper and lower body
,
• Lift, pull and push materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks
,
• Lift 50 pounds of weight frequently throughout assigned workday
,
• Sustain prolonged exposure to extreme weather and environmental conditions
