Job Description

Salary: $22 - $29 Hour

Robison Contracting Incorporated (RCI) is a construction firm focused on building America's infrastructure, specifically in the electric utility sector. We are developing a team of dedicated electrical technicians to help us commission and perform service and maintenance on Utility Scale Central Solar (PV) Inverters and Energy Storage Systems.

RCI will provide paid training to technicians with an electrical background. This position will require 100% travel as we are building a dedicated team of specialists to travel to various project locations, perform their duties, and move on to the next. RCI technicians will work on multi-employer work sites and need to represent RCI's team and clients with the highest level of integrity and professionalism.

Technicians should be prepared to work long hours, with a potential to work more than 65 hours in a given work week.

Qualified candidates shall be prepared to travel, have experience with troubleshooting electrical equipment, crimping data cables, software uploads, use a computer, and use PPE properly around electrical equipment.
Experience working in electrical utility/industrial environments:
• Minimum of a basic background in electrical equipment & distribution systems (120V to 480V); this should include proper training & use of PPE equipment for the systems being worked on.
• Prefer a minimum of five (5) years experience working with electrical systems.
• Ability to diagnose & troubleshoot electrical systems, use a multimeter, and test & make data cables.
• Job-related technical knowledge of electrical systems such as panel boards, switchboards, generators, UPS systems, DC voltage systems, fire alarm systems, etc.
• Ability to communicate effectively with audiences that include but are not limited to customers, management, coworkers, clients, vendors, contractors, and visitors.
• Ability to attend to detail and work in a time-conscious and time-effective manner.
• Ability to use/develop troubleshooting techniques for various electrical/mechanical systems in both standard and high-stress situations.

Job Requirements

Tasks will include physical labor; examples include working on ladders, ability to carry a minimum of 65 lbs, use of PPE equipment, ability to obtain forklift/manlift operator's license, etc.

Working conditions include various levels of environmental conditions including but not limited to generally favorable indoor workspace, outdoor work spaces, moving mechanical parts and vibration; high, precarious places, fumes or airborne particles, extreme temperatures, and high noise levels.

Travel to required locations will vary depending on the project and location. For most, this is a 100% travel position.
Qualifications
• OSHA 10 or higher.
• Obtained TWIC.
• Power Safe Training for Electrical Utilities.
• Must have good verbal and written English communication skills.
• Work effectively with multi-cultural personnel to execute work assignments.
• Strong interpersonal and mentoring skills and organizational accountability processes.
• Good multi-tasking skills.
• Proficient in MS-Office programs or G-Suite.

RCI is a Drug-Free Workplace; all applicants should be aware that RCI's customers often require a drug test prior to working on their project site. RCI technicians could be drug tested multiple times in a given year. RCI may also require a background check prior to submitting an offer.
