Job Overview:

The Boston Region Metropolitan Planning Organization (MPO) is seeking a highly skilled Transportation/Environmental Planner to lead the MPO's environmental program areas. This individual will work across the agency to advance the MPO's environmental goals and promote infrastructure investments that mitigate risks for the transportation system.

This role requires a planning background with expertise in environmental health, climate studies, or public policy. The ideal candidate will have excellent analytical skills, including proficiency working with ESRI's GIS software, spreadsheets, and databases.

Key Responsibilities:
• Develop and implement strategies for Resilience and Air Quality programs
• Evaluate environmental impacts of transportation projects using existing criteria and methods
• Support the Long-Range Transportation Plan (LRTP) Needs Assessment by documenting regional vulnerabilities
• Represent the MPO at statewide committees and engage with public health and environmental stakeholders

Requirements:
• At least five years of experience in urban or regional planning, transportation planning, or a related field
• Ability to engage with diverse audiences and stakeholders in written and oral formats
• Demonstrated commitment to addressing disparities in health and environmental outcomes
