Transportation Manager

Job Summary:

Sanimax is seeking an experienced Transportation Manager to oversee and optimize our transportation operations.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Planning:
• Develop and implement transportation strategies to optimize efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance overall performance.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align transportation strategies with overall business goals.
Operations Management:
• Oversee day-to-day transportation operations, including route planning, scheduling, and dispatching.
• Monitor and analyze transportation metrics to identify areas for improvement and implement corrective actions.
Fleet Management:
• Manage and maintain the company's fleet of vehicles, ensuring they are well-maintained, compliant with regulations, and operating efficiently.
• Implement preventive maintenance programs to minimize downtime and repair costs.
Regulatory Compliance:
• Stay abreast of transportation regulations and ensure compliance with local, state, and federal laws.
• Work closely with regulatory agencies to obtain necessary permits and licenses.
Cost Management:
• Develop and manage transportation budgets, identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising service quality.
• Negotiate contracts with transportation vendors and suppliers to secure favorable terms.
Team Leadership:
• Lead, motivate and develop a team of 35+ transportation professionals, including 1 Supervisor, 35+ Drivers and 5 Fleet Mechanics.
• Provide training and development opportunities to enhance the skills of the transportation team.
Customer Service:
• Collaborate with customer service teams to ensure timely and accurate delivery of products.
• Address customer inquiries and concerns promptly to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction.
Technology Integration:
• Implement and leverage transportation management systems (TMS) and other technology solutions to streamline operations and enhance visibility.
Qualifications:
• Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management or related field OR equivalent work experience.
• Proven experience as a Transportation Manager
• Strong knowledge of transportation regulations, safety standards, and compliance requirements.
• Excellent leadership and communication skills.
• Proficient in using transportation management systems (TMS) and other relevant technology.
• Problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Familiarity with environmental sustainability practices in transportation is a plus.
