About the role

RWE seeks a skilled (Senior) Transmission Manager to lead transmission analysis and generation interconnection studies in PJM and/or MISO. This key role involves advancing greenfield development by managing commercial risks, executing transmission strategies, and guiding technical studies to secure successful queue positions aligned with company goals. The role collaborates closely with the Interconnection Execution team to provide transmission insights and analysis, ensuring smooth project progress through the interconnection process.

future plans
• Perform system-wide transmission analysis to identify and prioritize development in low-cost, high-capacity grid areas.
• Evaluate congestion patterns and basis risk to inform project siting and portfolio strategy.
• Manage interconnection applications and queue positions during cluster study phases in PJM and/or MISO.
• Review ISO interconnection study reports to identify errors, cost-saving opportunities, and develop alternative scenarios to strengthen the project queue.
• Conduct power flow analyses to support project development and M&A evaluations.
• Engage in ISO stakeholder processes, meetings, and working groups to stay aligned with queue reforms and changes.
Your powerful skills
• Bachelor's in Electrical Engineering (Master's preferred).
• At least 5 years in electrical power systems; 3+ years in generation interconnection.
• Strong knowledge of transmission planning, power flow analysis, and interconnection procedures.
• Proficiency in TARA modules (e.g., PJM GD, MISO ERIS/NRIS, FCITC), PSSE, and/or PSCAD; familiarity with PJM or MISO interconnection rules and market structures.
• Excellent communication skills.
• Ability to handle multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
Advantages (not essential)
• PE license in one or more states.
• Experience in IPP, ISO, utility, or as a transmission consultant.
• Participation in market stakeholder processes or regulatory advocacy.
• Experience with queue attrition modeling or ISO study replication.
• A master's in Power Systems may substitute for one year of experience.
• Familiarity with project due diligence and commercial transactions.
