Job Description
The State of Wisconsin is hiring a Training Program Coordinator for the Department of Natural Resources in Madison, WI. This role involves developing and coordinating training programs for agency staff, assessing training needs, and ensuring training effectiveness. The position allows for remote work up to three days per week, pending supervisor approval. The starting pay ranges from $35.00 to $38.25 per hour, with a comprehensive benefits package.
Introduction
The Wisconsin Department of Natural Resources (DNR) is dedicated to working with Wisconsinites while preserving and enhancing the natural resources of Wisconsin. In partnership with individuals and organizations, DNR staff manage fish, wildlife, forests, parks, air and water resources, while promoting a healthy, sustainable environment and a full range of outdoor opportunities.
The DNR is currently recruiting to fill their Training Program Coordinator vacancy within the External Services Division. This position is headquartered at the State Natural Resource Building (GEF 2) in downtown Madison, which is conveniently located near various restaurants and coffee shops. This position may be able to work remotely up to three (3) days per week, pending supervisor approval.

Position Summary
This position is responsible for developing, coordinating, administering, monitoring, evaluating the effectiveness of, and presenting specialized, job-specific training programs for bureau and agency staff. This position identifies training needs and develops classroom, on-line, eLearning and other forms of training directly related to the operational needs of the agency and bureau, impacting agency delivery of services. This position analyzes and identifies training needs, reviews training programs and recommends changes and modifications as needed to keep training materials and programs relevant to the changing needs of the Bureau and Department. This position conducts quality assurance monitoring of the bureau’s staff to ensure that the trainings are effective, and staff performance meets Department and Bureau standards. This position assists with quality assurance of new and existing license and registration products and services. Work results have significant statewide impact affecting the Department’s service delivery strategies, which in turn affects most Wisconsin citizens. This position exercises considerable independent judgement and decision making regarding the nature and content of assigned training programs for the bureau. This position continuously evaluates the effectiveness of assigned training and keeps management informed of trainees’ progress and status.

Salary Information
Starting pay for this position is between $35.00 to $38.25 per hour (or $72,800 to $79,560 annually), in addition to excellent benefits. This position is included in the classification Staff Development Program Specialist - Senior within Pay Schedule/Range 81-03.

This position is not represented by a collective bargaining unit. Pay on appointment will follow the provisions of the State of Wisconsin Compensation Plan.
Job Details

Probation: A 12-month probationary period may be required.

Remote Work: Based on an assessment of the goals and work activities, this position may be eligible for remote work. Remote work approval is based on individual circumstances and is subject to supervisor approval and DNR remote work policies. Approval is subject to change without notice based on business needs. Employees with approved remote work arrangements are generally expected to work within the state of Wisconsin.
Qualifications

Required qualifications include experience in ALL the following criteria:
• Experience utilizing adult learning principles, theories, and techniques to develop training materials, and coordinating and presenting classroom training
• Experience using Articulate 360 or comparable learning management software (LMS) (e.g.: Absorb, Adobe Captivate, Blackboard Learn) to develop training curricula
• Experience performing quality assurance checks (e.g.: auditing calls, emails) to provide training and strategic improvement plans
• Experience relaying information concerning laws, requirements, and procedures pertaining to licensing, vehicle registration and titling and other DNR programs.
In addition, preferred qualifications include any of the following criteria:
• Experience drafting and maintaining standard operating procedures
• Experience developing, maintaining, and assigning curricula in Cornerstone
• Experience utilizing DNR’s Go Wild System, CARES phone system, or other Customer and Outreach Services Systems.
