ERM Is looking for a motivated, detail-oriented Technician, Site Investigation & Remediation to join our growing team in Anchorage, Alaska. Working under the direction of project managers and partners, the successful candidate will work on interesting site investigation and remediation projects throughout Alaska. You will have the opportunity to work on a variety of projects, covering the full spectrum of ERM’s services.
This is a great opportunity to work with ERM's technical experts to implement the latest engineering, investigation, and remediation technologies, while building the experience in the environmental industry.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
• Effectively manage chargeable environmental monitoring and sampling equipment, and ERM vehicles, so they are properly maintained, available for use, and charged to the respective projects when used.
• Ship or deliver equipment and supplies to vendors and project sites. Includes shipment and handling of small quantities of hazardous substances.
• Support management of field samples including packaging, and shipping, and analysis of laboratory results.
• Conduct compliance inspections.
• Complete work assignments safely in accordance with ERM's management system, format and quality standards, and on schedule.
• Provide support to prepare work plans and reports for a variety of environmental projects involving soil, water, and air sampling.
• Compile and evaluate data and assist in report preparation.
• Assist in ensuring compliance with all federal, state and local regulations.
• Work within quality/budget/schedule expectations and scope-specific assignments.
REQUIREMENTS:
• High School Graduate/GED.
• 0+ years of relevant experience.
• Ability to provide strong commitment to safety, including following established Health and Safety protocols.
• Ability to work 20 hours a week.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds unassisted.
• Effective written/verbal communication and organization/analytical skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with mechanical aptitude and hands-on trouble-shooting/problem-solving skills.
• Ability to multi-task, maintain flexibility, travel, and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Valid driver’s license and a good driving record.
PREFERRED BUT NOT REQUIRED:
• Local candidates preferred.
