Job Description

GFL Environmental is seeking a Technician for their Mokena, IL location. The role involves maintaining the warehouse, operating forklifts, loading/unloading trailers, and ensuring safety and cleanliness. Candidates should have a high school diploma and be physically capable of lifting heavy materials. Responsible for maintaining the branch warehouse. Responsibilities include off-loading / loading of trailers. Handling waste containers of different weight and sizes. Operations of filter crusher and solvent recycler. Will also include maintaining the branch warehouse in a clean organized Condition. This role will require the use of forklifts, pallet jacks and dollies.

What you'll do:
• Responsible for promoting safe work behaviors in a manner that consists with GFL Guidelines

· Operating forklifts

· Loading and unloading of trailers

· Assisting box truck drivers in loading / off loading

· Operating of solvent recycling unit

· Cleaning and filling of solvent drums

· Organize ,clean and maintain warehouse , grounds and office

· Laborer at times on customer sites

· Perform other related duties as signed

What's required:
• High school diploma or equivalent
• Valid driver’s licenses
• Forklift certified preferred
• Physical requirements
• Frequent lifting of material that range from 50 – 85 lbs
• Frequent pushing/pulling of 30-55 gallon drums of waste/product
• Using approved equipment pallet jacks / drum dollies for safe material handling. Drum weight varies on material type and size. Weight might exceed 400 lbs.
