Introduction

We are seeking a skilled and proactive Energy Solutions Technician to support Nashua Franchises with scoping energy solutions, compiling Bills of Material (BOM), and assisting in solution design in collaboration with our EPC (Engineering, Procurement, and Construction) providers. This role involves hands‑on technical support including installation, diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance of energy systems — including generators, batteries, solar panels, inverters, battery monitoring systems (BMS), and solar charge controllers — while ensuring full compliance with electrical standards and safety regulations.

Support Nashua Franchises in scoping energy solutions and preparing BOMs in consultation with EPC providers.

Assist with installation, fault diagnosis, repair, and maintenance of energy systems (generators, solar panels, batteries, inverters, BMS, solar charge controllers).

Ensure compliance with all relevant electrical standards and safety regulations.

Provide second‑line support and training to Franchise teams.

Escalate complex technical issues to suppliers and EPC partners.

Collaborate with EPCs, OEMs, distributors, Franchise teams, and customer project teams.

Assist pre‑sales teams with customer‑specific projects and technical input.

Install loggers on potential customer sites and interpret utility consumption reports to provide data‑driven insights.

Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and technical drawings.

Install, maintain, and repair electrical wiring, fixtures, and equipment.

Perform fault‑finding, troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and electrical inspections.

Issue Certificates of Compliance (CoC) in line with SANS and regulatory standards.

Test systems and components to ensure proper functionality and safety.

Maintain accurate documentation of work performed.

Work collaboratively on‑site with other trades and contractors.

Adhere strictly to all safety procedures and company policies.

Strong attention to detail.

Ability to adapt to change and cope with pressure or setbacks.

Education & Experience Requirements:

Matric (Grade 12).

Qualified Electrician with a valid Trade Test Certificate.

Wireman’s License (recognised by relevant South African authorities).

3–5 years of post‑qualification electrical experience.

Valid Driver’s License.

Experience with both single‑phase and three‑phase systems.

Proficient in electrical testing equipment and tools.

In‑depth knowledge of electrical codes and safety standards.

Ability to travel and work overtime as required.

Experience in high‑pressure, fast‑paced environments.

Strong technical acumen and commitment to knowledge sharing.
