Clark Dietz is seeking a Team Leader for Traffic Engineering in Farmington, MI. The role involves leading a multi-discipline team on transportation projects, collaborating with clients, managing project performance, and overseeing staff development. Candidates should have a B.S. in Civil Engineering, a Michigan PE license, and at least 8 years of relevant experience. We currently have an excellent opportunity for an experienced civil engineering professional to join our Indianapolis office as Team Leader for Transportation. The selected candidate will lead a multi-discipline team which serves INDOT, and LPA clients with planning and design for transportation projects in Central Indiana.

Primary Responsibilities
• Provides leadership and oversight for multi-disciplined transportation/traffic projects within the area and actively contributes to the growth and success of the team and its clients.
• Leads and serves a group of professionals which includes engineers and designers
• Collaborates with the Area Manager and business development staff on client/project pursuits and maintenance of existing client relationships.
• Works with the marketing staff on proposals and campaigns to promote the practice across various media channels.
• Assists the Area Manager with billing, monitoring project performance, workload forecasting, staff utilization and other administrative tasks.
• Leads or assists with scope, schedule, and fee negotiations and any contract amendments as needed.
• Leads or participates in project coordination meetings and ensures QA/AC processes are implemented and followed.
• Accountable for project performance and project deliverables; manages scope creep and takes corrective action as needed.
• Provides quarterly coaching to staff, conducts regular staff meetings, and actively works to build the depth of the team through training and development activities.
• Performs administrative functions including timesheet and expense report approval; conducts candidate interviews and makes staffing recommendations.
• Collaborates with other Team Leaders and staff throughout the region and company to share work and resources as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Position Requirements
• B.S. degree in Civil Engineering and Michigan PE license are required.
• 8+ years of experience with transportation design and traffic projects; experience with project and people management is required.
• Experience with transportation and traffic planning, design, operations and safety improvements, traffic analysis and studies for private DOT and local agency clients.
• Knowledge of the MDOT Design Manual, MDOT Traffic & Safety Standards and Guidelines, and Project Development Process for roadway and traffic projects, including submittals, permitting and other requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to successfully manage people and projects.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop client relationships, market new business, make public presentations and write technical reports.
• Knowledgeable with the capabilities of various traffic operations and safety analysis tools including Synchro/SimTraffic, Rodel, SIDRA, HCS and Vissim
• Valid driver’s license and the ability to travel to client and project sites as needed.

The starting salary range is $98,342 - $136,448 + hiring bonus and industry leading annual bonus.
