The region of CO-WY is well-positioned to develop innovative solutions for environmental monitoring, measurement, verification, and prediction. These solutions will empower citizens, communities, governments, and industry to build climate-resilient communities.

The Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Corporation have partnered with the CO-WY Climate Resilience Engine on this groundbreaking initiative, which is set to catalyze significant outcomes that will reshape the landscape of climate technology and regional economic development in Colorado and Wyoming. The first important outcome is the development and commercialization of advanced climate-resilient technologies. These technologies - from environmental monitoring to predictive analytics - aim to empower communities, governments, and industries to effectively navigate and adapt to the multifaceted challenges of climate change.

By focusing on innovative solutions in areas like wildfire mitigation, water resource management, sustainable agriculture, and adaptation to extreme weather events, the CO-WY Climate Resilience Engine is poised to revolutionize how we understand, predict, and mitigate the impacts of climate change. The CO-WY Climate Resilience Engine is set to have a profound impact on workforce development and community engagement and places a strong emphasis on inclusive growth.

In this contract, grant-funded role, we seek a highly skilled Workforce Development Manager who reports to the Director of Business Development – Climate Resilience and develops positive long-term relationships with business, industry, government and workforce representatives, cultivating relationships to understand labor force needs and assist with regional workforce supply and demand to advance economic development initiatives. Provides leadership and supervision to industry sector partnerships "clusters," and leads in creating workforce intelligence and labor supply solutions for business and industry.

JOB FUNCTIONS:

Convenes business, industry, and workforce development leaders to advance workforce development and retention initiatives for Front Range and CO-WY region.
• Oversees TalentCO initiative, including:
• Formation of a Workforce Coalition comprised of business, industry and workforce development leaders.
• Supports Metro Denver EDC's Economic Competitiveness team with employer and workforce pipeline data for Workforce Cluster Reports.
• Engages workforce development community to integrate Workforce Cluster Reports into strategic planning.
• Develop strategic relationships to promote Colorado and Wyoming as a top destination for workforce development and skills enhancement, which may include creative and data-driven marketing campaigns.

Support workforce development and strategic partners in evaluating business organizations' employment and training needs, including:
• Develop relationships with training providers to advocate for and promote necessary and responsive workforce solutions.
• Build and maintain productive relationships with public-sector, private-sector, and non-profit employers that reinforce career pathways for future workforce.
• Develop and deploy programs for MD EDC and CO-WY Engine projects/employers to build their workforce, including through employees, apprentices, interns, and on-the-job training.
• Gathers information for additional funding opportunities to support workforce solutions and programming.
• Develop and manage a database of employers and/or industry representatives and maintain regular communication through appropriate channels.
• Support Metro Denver EDC and CO-WY Engine workforce and business development efforts, including:
• Support Metro Denver EDC and its partners including potential attendance at meetings with CEOs, decision-makers, and Site Selection Consultants in local, domestic, and international markets.
• Build and maintain strong partnerships with economic development entities, local governments, chamber organizations, and other workforce development agencies to ensure alignment and execution of collaborative workforce strategies.
• Support the Metro Denver EDC by participating in all industry convenings, meetings, and conferences to support and leverage relationships.
• Fully integrate and align with the Metro Denver EDC and Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce team to support cross-functional programs, members support and learning/professional development opportunities.
• Other duties as assigned by the Executive Director in response to a rapidly changing environment.

QUALIFICATIONS:
• Strategic Planning knowledge, including the skill to identify meaningful goals and metrics to measure success, prioritize opportunities, and effectively resource time and budget towards measurable outcomes.
• Ability to accomplish organization objectives by organizing and monitoring work processes
• Salesforce experience a plus
• Established leadership skills, including the ability to manage stakeholder groups, work collaboratively, and influence strategic partners to work in coordination toward agreed-upon goals and outcomes.
• Excellent communication skills; keen appreciation for follow-up, follow-through, and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently and without supervision
• Experience working in and with the private and public sector, including:
• Experience working with business and industry leaders, human resources professionals, non-profit and government practitioners
• Good working knowledge of the region's high-demand industries, especially as it relates to the workforce needs of employers
• Knowledge of economic and workforce development practices, systems, and program design; knowledge of training systems
• Pro-business beliefs that are consistent with the organizational mission and generally with the Denver Metro Chamber of Commerce positions.
• Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including writing, editing, and making presentations to groups and individuals
