This position will support sustainable transportation initiatives related to vehicle electrification and hydrogen technology. The position will be responsible for assisting our clients in developing infrastructure, vehicle plans, and designs associated with transitioning light, medium and heavy-duty vehicles such as municipal fleets, buses and rail cars to zero emissions technologies. Candidates are not required to have experience in all areas highlighted in this posting. Having expertise in either fleet of infrastructure planning, and design is acceptable. This is an intermediate position requiring 5-10 years of experience. The ideal candidate is a motivated, results-driven professional interested in zero emissions technologies, environmental issues, managing projects, building business opportunities, developing client relationships, and delivering technical expertise and value to our partners and clients. Being capable of working well with other employees or independently as well as strong oral and written communication skills when interacting with outside vendors and clients is essential for this position. Candidates should be able to work on multiple projects simultaneously while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of quality. You bring to the role: BS degree in Planning, Engineering, architecture or Related Field 5-10 years of progressively responsible operations, planning, engineering, or academic experience. Background in fleet planning, facility and infrastructure design, or related fields is preferred. As the successful candidate, you will: Manage projects related to transitioning fleets or infrastructure to zero emissions technologies. Provide technical expertise to support cross-discipline project teams planning, designing and implementing rail, bus and paratransit solutions for our clients. Design infrastructure such as fire detection/mitigation systems, charging systems, hydrogen fueling stations, and maintenance facilities to support zero emissions fleets. Work with utilities to assess the impacts of electrifying large fleets. Complete cost estimates associated with zero emissions transitions. Serve as subject matter expert on bus and rail fleet planning, vehicles and maintenance infrastructure. Develop bus and rail vehicle operational plans and related project elements including vehicle performance analysis and maintenance infrastructure plans. Develop specifications and commercial terms for new vehicle and infrastructure procurements. Develop cost estimates and life cycle analyses to assess existing bus operations. Conduct fleet assessment and transition studies. Review technical documents such as design plans and other engineering related deliverables. Produce quality assurance plans and oversee quality control programs. Prepare technical documents/reports and present to clients, project teams, etc. Develop and maintain productive working relationships. Continuous, effective communication and relationship building with clients in the development and implementation of projects.
