beBee Careers is seeking a Sustainable Project Developer in Madison, MS, for a Geologist/Environmental Scientist role. About this Role

We are looking for a motivated Geologist/Environmental Scientist to support our engineering and environmental projects. This role involves conducting site investigations, analyzing subsurface conditions, and providing geoscience expertise to ensure environmental compliance and support sustainable project development.

Responsibilities include:
1. Conducting environmental site assessments (Phase I and Phase II ESA) to evaluate potential contamination risks.
2. Analyzing subsurface conditions, including soil and groundwater sampling, site characterization, and subsurface analysis.
3. Collaborating with engineers and scientists to develop site remediation plans and strategies.
4. Monitoring and overseeing site remediation activities to ensure compliance with project specifications and regulatory standards.
5. Using GIS and geospatial tools to analyze and present environmental data.
6. Creating high-quality maps, models, and visualizations to support engineering and environmental projects.
7. Supporting the preparation of technical reports, including geological assessments, environmental impact studies, and site investigation summaries.
8. Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, including engineers, planners, biologists, and cultural resource specialists, to integrate environmental considerations into project designs.

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:
• Bachelor's degree in Geology, Earth Science, or a related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience in geology or related fields, with a focus on GIS applications.
• Proficiency in GIS, Microsoft Office, and other relevant software for environmental analysis and document preparation.
• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, including NEPA, CERCLA, RCRA, and local environmental laws.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.

Preferred Qualifications

A strong candidate for this role will have:
• Experience in managing multiple projects and client relationships.
• Experience in project management and client interaction.
• Experience working with federal agencies such as the Department of Transportation (DOT), Federal Highway Administration (FHWA), U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), or Bureau of Land Management (BLM).
• Professional Geologist (PG) license or eligibility to obtain it.
