About the Role
The Business Development Manager will play a key part in developing interest and customer commitment for our sustainable mining technologies. This individual will work closely with both the commercial and technical team to drive towards a customer-supported demonstration and pilot scale validation of our three technology platforms: Bio-Solubilization, Bio-Cementation and Bio-Extraction.
Main Responsibilities:
• Support the VP of Business Development in driving revenue growth through ongoing commercial activities and paid proof of concept projects.
• Build relationships with key decision makers and influencers within Tier 1 and 2 Mining companies, including juniors.
• Establish a network across consultants, engineering companies, service providers and others who influence and support the mining industry.
• Conduct market studies using various tools to define market potential and best available technologies. Define TAM, SAM and SOM for technologies.
• Coordinate communication across the organization and between the technical team and the customer ensuring commitments are met.
• Promote our technology at various domestic and international Mining Industry conferences to build a sales pipeline.
Key Requirements:
• Undergraduate degree in engineering, mineral processing or other technical discipline; 5+ year's experience in business development or sales preferably in the mining industry.
• Business development skill set (markets, channels and customer) with established network in the mining industry.
• A record of accomplishments in the promotion of innovative technology that addresses customer unmet needs leveraging an understanding of mineral processing technologies.
• Experience developing value propositions and business model canvases in service of commercialization of new products.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Ability to prioritize and execute critical items, resourceful and a self-starter.
• Commercially savvy with strong problem-solving skills and results-oriented mindset.
• Comfort in a fast-paced environment; must be capable of supporting multiple projects that are deadline-oriented, handling interruptions, and being flexible with changing tasks.
• Passion about the startup environment, and able to work from ground zero to help develop the team.
• Based in the US with eligibility to work without sponsorship, now or in the future.
