Job Description
Ag Jobs is hiring a Sustainable Agriculture Apprentice in Pell City, AL. The role involves hands-on work in various agricultural tasks like organic vegetable production and orchard management. Employees will work up to 19 hours per week, with shifts from Monday to Friday. Collaboration and active listening are essential skills. Employees will work on a variety of agricultural enterprises which include organic vegetable production, orchard management, mushroom production, and other seasonal agricultural tasks on the Eden Hall campus.
Each week and shift will be different depending on the farm's seasonal needs. Employees will work collaboratively with crews to accomplish tasks such as identifying pests, determining soil amendments, planting in greenhouse, and working with Parkhurst to determine harvesting plans. In the winter, we also tap maple trees and manage our organic orchards.
Shifts run Monday to Friday from 9-12 and 1-4 for farm tasks. Students can work up to 19 hours a week and they can also work as little as two shifts (5-6 hours) a week.

All current student employees should notify their other manager(s) if you work multiple jobs on campus at the same time. Additionally, students may not work more than 20 hours per week (combined between all campus jobs) during the academic year. Students may not exceed 980 work hours per calendar year.
Student jobs do not automatically roll over to the next academic year or summer.
