Job Description
The Sustainability Specialist at Institutional Shareholder Services in Manila will provide expert support on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues to senior executives. Responsibilities include creating client reports, supporting client engagement, and collaborating with teams in the U.S. and Europe. The role requires a Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field and at least 2 years of experience in sustainability. The position is hybrid, requiring at least 3 days onsite per week.

The Sustainability Specialist is a critical role that provides expert support for our advisory services on environmental, social, and governance (ESG) issues to senior executives at the world’s largest companies. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with ISS Corporate Solutions’ Analysts and Advisors to provide sustainability content and advisory services and will work on client-facing projects in tandem with team members in the United States and Europe. ISS Corporate Solutions puts great emphasis on cooperation and offers a welcoming and collegial working atmosphere.
In this role, you will create and produce client reports, support client engagement, work on special data collection projects, and collaborate with the other members of the ISS Corporate sustainability advisory team on other initiatives as needed.
Responsibilities
ISS Corporate Sustainability Advisory solutions involve helping companies optimize their public environmental and social disclosures. Using ISS ESG data and other resources, the team provides insights and helps companies develop roadmaps for their sustainability reporting and management efforts.
In this role, you would:
• Work closely with U.S. and European colleagues to support several facets of our client work, including creating benchmarking analyses, preparing disclosure guidance on key issues, identifying best-in-class disclosure examples, and conducting reviews of draft disclosures.
• Generate and quality-check client reports and other deliverables.
• Help develop and implement new client deliverables as our scope of work increases.
• Develop expertise on ISS ESG data and consider new ways to utilize it for clients.
Qualifications
Training & Experience:
• Bachelor’s Degree in Sustainability, Environmental Science, Business, or any related field
• Has 2 or more years of relative work experience in Sustainability
• Tech savvy and has intellectual curiosity (ability to quickly learn complex concepts and technical subject matter)
• Strong verbal and written communication skills (ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues across all organizations verbal or in-person)
• Effective time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Excellent organization, multitasking, and prioritization skills
• Strong Excel, PowerPoint, and data analysis skills
Experience working with any of the following would be preferred/ a plus:
• Familiarity with ISS ratings, GRI, SASB, or other market standards and guidelines
• Knowledge on environmental regulations, sustainability reporting frameworks and industry best practices
Work Location & Schedule:
• Amenable in working at Makati City on a dayshift schedule (8:30 am- 5:30 pm, Manila Time).
• Amenable to go on a hybrid working arrangement (at least 3 days work onsite per week)
