Job Description
TipTopJob is seeking a Sustainability Project Manager for Purchasing in Crewe, UK, to lead sustainability initiatives within Procurement. The role involves selecting low-carbon materials, integrating sustainability into sourcing processes, and collaborating with stakeholders. Key responsibilities include project management, training development, and compliance with sustainability regulations. The position is initially on-site for 4 days a week, transitioning to 3 days based on workload, with a contract lasting until 31/12/2025.

Contract: Initial contract until 31/12/2025, potential for extension

37 hours per week
Initially 4 days on:site, moving to 3 days per week depending on workload
Overview Of The Role
We are seeking a Sustainability Project Manager : Purchasing to act as a focal point within the Procurement function. Reporting directly to the Commodity Head, the role will focus on the selection of low:carbon materials and the decarbonisation of the supply base. The successful candidate will be responsible for integrating sustainability requirements into sourcing processes and working closely with internal and external stakeholders to drive sustainability initiatives forward.
Key Responsibilities
• Lead sustainability and decarbonisation initiatives within Procurement, ensuring alignment with corporate objectives.
• Work closely with Brand Group leads to develop and implement Chain of Custody processes and procedures within procurement.
• Adapt and deliver sustainability training modules for the procurement function and strategic suppliers.
• Develop project timelines and plans to track progress, ensuring key deliverables are met.
• Liaise with internal and external stakeholders, maintaining strong communication and collaboration.
• Interface with cross:functional teams to integrate sustainability strategies into purchasing decisions.
• Stay informed on industry regulations and compliance requirements, ensuring best practices are followed.
Essential Skills And Experience
• Proven experience in sustainability and decarbonisation within procurement or supply chain management.
• Strong knowledge of relevant sustainability processes and legislation, including:
• ISO14001
• Corporate Sustainability Due Diligence Directive (CSDDD)
• LkSG (German Supply Chain Act)
• EC Directive 2000/53EC (End of Life Vehicles)
• ZEV Mandate UK (Zero Emission Vehicle)
• EUDR (EU Deforestation Regulation)
• Expertise in project management, with experience in creating timelines, tracking progress, and delivering results.
• Ability to develop and deliver training materials to internal teams and suppliers.
• Strong stakeholder management skills with experience in liaising across different departments.
• Self:motivated with the ability to drive sustainability initiatives and bring strategies together effectively.
