Sustainability Manager

Zero Waste Solutions, Inc. is seeking a full-time Sustainability Manager in Arlington, VA. The role involves developing waste reduction strategies and programs for government and commercial clients, analyzing waste data, and implementing recycling initiatives. Candidates should have at least 5 years in waste management and strong interpersonal skills. The position requires working on-site with customers and employees, ensuring compliance with regulations, and reporting on progress.
As a Sustainability Manager, you will be assigned to support a set of specific customers to drive waste reduction strategies, policies, programs, and initiatives. You will leverage your current experience; supporting waste management activities utilizing best practices to support our government and commercial customers. Working with the site leadership as a business partner with our customer, you will be an integral part of a team to assist in establishing policies, setting direction toward execution, and reporting on monthly progress to established goals.

The SM's duties will also include assisting in the research, development, and implementation of waste reduction programs that improve our customer’s environmental impact without detracting from other business goals. This role will also support ensuring adherence to all laws and industry regulations.

Responsibilities

· Review, analyze and present waste audit data

· Research and design recycling programs for specific industries

· Implement programs onsite, working hand on hand with our employees onsite and customer representatives

· Create education training program and awareness

· Audit, analyze and report new program results

· Ability to be persistent, respectful and tactful.

· Ability to work independently in the field while maintaining contact with Managers and customers on important issues.

· Other tasks as assigned.

Requirements:
• Proficient in the English language; reading, writing and speaking
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a multi-cultural environment.
• Successful implementation skills are required – diplomacy, tact, and perseverance.
• Must be results-oriented, take initiative, and be self-motivated
• 3 years minimum on a position focused on dealing specifically with customer service or customer-related activities
• 5 years of minimum experience with the focus on - waste management, recycling, food composting
• Ability to obtain security background clearance to access customer facilities, as required

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $70,000.00 - $80,000.00 per year
