Turner Construction Company is seeking a Sustainability Manager in Atlanta, GA, to lead sustainability initiatives within the business unit. The role involves coaching teams, implementing sustainability programs, and fostering relationships with subcontractors and clients. Responsibilities include engaging in sustainable certification projects, conducting training, maintaining databases, and participating in national sustainability meetings. About the position
As a Sustainability Manager at Turner Construction Company, you will lead and coordinate sustainability-related activities within the business unit or market segment. This role requires you to serve as a subject matter expert, providing coaching and guidance to project teams and leadership on sustainability initiatives. You will be responsible for implementing sustainability and resiliency programs through workshops, training, coaching, and knowledge sharing. Your ability to communicate and promote sustainability strategic pillars and concepts will be essential as you engage with project teams and Business Unit (BU) management. In this position, you will develop relationships with sustainability-related subcontractors, suppliers, vendors, manufacturers, designers, and clients to advance common goals. You will actively engage with projects targeting sustainable certification or those with client-driven specific sustainability-centered goals. As a subject matter expert, you will contribute to sustainability charrette meetings on new projects targeting sustainable certification and offer resources and direction to employees seeking or maintaining sustainability accreditation. You will work closely with BUs to ascertain best practices and share improvement efforts with other Sustainability Managers. Participation in Project Launch activities will be part of your responsibilities, supporting Operations with related sustainability setup items. Regular communication with BU management about project status, Turner sustainability initiatives, training opportunities, and trends will be crucial. You will conduct regular project reviews to establish measurable goals for sustainability-related improvements and guide project teams participating in the Metering Program. Staying current with market and industry trends related to sustainability and resilience, including rating system updates and code changes, will be vital. You will maintain the Green Building Database and Resilient Project Info Sheets, collaborate with the Operations Manager to administer the Turner Green Zone checklist, and foster engagement within BUs by creating and leading "green teams". Your role will also involve attending Turner's National sustainability meeting and performing other activities, duties, and responsibilities as assigned.

• Engage with projects targeting sustainable certification or with client-driven specific sustainability-centered goals.

• Contribute as subject matter expert to sustainability charrette meetings on new projects targeting sustainable certification.

• Offer resources and provide direction to employees seeking or maintaining sustainability accreditation.

• Work with BUs to ascertain best practices and share improvement efforts with other Sustainability Managers.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree from an accredited degree program and minimum of 7 years of construction and/or sustainability industry experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.

• Construction Operations experience desired.
,
• Previous experience with sustainability topics, practices, and processes.
,
• LEED Professional Accreditation or other relevant green building rating system accreditation desired.
,
• Project management experience desired.
,
• Ability to independently manage competing demands.
,
• Possess solid problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.

• Approachable and able to effectively interact with all employee levels, management, subcontractors, and clients.

• Management experience, able to engage others that are not direct reports.

• Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and timely documentation.

• Familiar with basic lean concepts and continuous improvement methods and tools.

• Proficient computer skills, including Microsoft Office suite of applications, Internet navigation, and database applications.

• Experience with sustainability certification processes and standards.
