About the position

The Sustainability Manager I at Amcor will play a crucial role in supporting the execution of the company's decarbonization strategy and engaging with customers on sustainability initiatives. This position serves as a central point of contact for Amcor's global Business Groups, ensuring alignment with sustainability goals and facilitating the development of action plans. The role involves collaboration across various internal functions to implement sustainability programs and drive progress towards reducing greenhouse gas emissions and enhancing the use of recycled materials.

Responsibilities
• Align with the 'Being Amcor' model to lead and execute the decarbonization strategy.

• Help Business Groups develop and implement sustainability action plans.

• Ensure sustainability initiatives are aligned with the broader company framework and customer expectations.

• Collaborate with internal functions to execute a coordinated sustainability plan.

• Create and implement new processes and policies to advance sustainability goals.

• Develop documents and presentations for Commercial meetings and customer sustainability expectations.
,
• Lead cross-functional collaboration to build decarbonization roadmaps for customers.
,
• Monitor emerging trends and communicate sustainability topics internally.

Requirements
• Bachelor's Degree in Business, Environmental Science, or Engineering; Master's Degree preferred.

• Minimum 6 years of experience in engineering or business related to sustainability.
,
• Direct knowledge of the commercial and regulatory landscape of recycled materials.
,
• Familiarity with the waste collection and processing industry.
,
• Excellent program/project management experience; PMP certification preferred.
,
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
,
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice-to-haves
• Experience in the plastics industry.

• Knowledge of industry associations and lobby groups in the waste collection sector.
