Job Description
Birlasoft Limited is seeking a Sustainability Manager in Noida, India, responsible for developing and overseeing the company's ESG strategy. The role involves collaborating with leadership and stakeholders to integrate ESG into business processes, conducting assessments, monitoring performance indicators, and preparing reports. Candidates should have relevant degrees, at least 10 years of experience in ESG or sustainability, and strong analytical and communication skills.
Position Overview:
You will be responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's ESG strategy. You will work closely with senior leadership, departments across the organization, and external stakeholders to integrate ESG considerations into business decision-making processes, enhance transparency, and drive continuous improvement in ESG performance.
Location: Noida and Pune
Educational qualifications: An undergraduate and postgraduate degree in Environmental science, Sustainability, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement the company's ESG strategy, goals, and initiatives in alignment with industry best practices and stakeholder expectations.
Conduct thorough ESG assessments to identify potential risks and opportunities, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and standards.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG considerations into business strategies, operations, and decision-making processes.
Monitor and evaluate key ESG performance indicators, such as greenhouse gas emissions, energy and water consumption, waste management, community engagement, diversity and inclusion, and ethical business practices.
Prepare and maintain ESG reports and disclosures for internal and external stakeholders, including shareholders, customers, regulators, and industry organizations.
Stay informed about emerging ESG trends, regulations, and reporting frameworks, and recommend appropriate actions to enhance our ESG performance.
Engage with external stakeholders, such as investors, rating agencies, ESG research firms, and industry peers, to enhance transparency and credibility.
Collaborate with the Investor Relations and Communications teams to effectively communicate our ESG initiatives and performance to internal and external audiences.
Act as a subject matter expert on ESG-related topics, providing guidance and support to internal teams and senior management.
Skills and Competencies:
• GRI, TCFD, BRSR, DJSI, MSCI, CDP, Sustainalytics, Understanding, work experience.
• Decarbonization, Climate change and Net-zero.
• Hands-on experience of ESG data collection and monitoring tool such as Enablon, Workiva, IBM Envizi etc.
• Understanding of SBTi process and target setting.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Advanced Excel and PowerPoint presentation.
• Minimum of 10 years experience in ESG, sustainability, or related fields, preferably within a corporate environment.
• Experience in environmental markets (carbon, water, biodiversity, renewable energy).
• Thorough understanding of ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting guidelines such as the Global Reporting Initiative, Sustainability Accounting Standards Board, and Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures.
• Profound knowledge of environmental concerns, social impact, and corporate governance practices and their implications for businesses.
• Strong analytical abilities to gather, analyse, and interpret ESG data and metrics effectively.
• Familiarity with ESG data providers, tools, and platforms for data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Exceptional project management skills to plan, prioritize, and execute multiple initiatives concurrently.
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders and influence decision-making.
• Proven capacity to work independently and proactively, with keen attention to detail and a problem-solving mindset.
