About the position
The Sustainability Manager at LifeWorks Restaurant Group is responsible for leading the implementation of the company's sustainability strategy. This role emphasizes waste reduction, carbon reduction, sustainable procurement, and the promotion of sustainable practices across the organization. The manager will collaborate with various departments to communicate sustainability efforts to clients and guests, fostering a culture of sustainability within the company.
Responsibilities
• Implement a comprehensive sustainability program for dining and catering operations.

• Engage managers to implement and manage creative sustainability initiatives.

• Manage, analyze, and report on client and enterprise sustainability KPIs and metrics.

• Provide guiding leadership regarding sustainability to the operations team.
,
• Work with the operations team on waste, energy, and water conservation initiatives.
,
• Facilitate ongoing sustainability training for management and hourly employees.
,
• Develop and facilitate workshops, content, and meetings regarding sustainability.
,
• Plan educational field trips for managers to local suppliers and waste infrastructure facilities.
,
• Supervise, train, and monitor the activities of the operational team to accomplish sustainability goals in partnership with the general management team.

• Partner with managers and FLAs in kitchens to educate and provide in-the-moment coaching on sustainable food practices.

• Participate in regular meetings with internal teams, local clients, and external stakeholders.
Requirements
• Bachelor's degree in a subject related to sustainability, business, environment, or similar fields.

• 3 - 5+ years' experience working in a sustainability team or specialized consultancy.
,
• Knowledge of and experience with social and environmental matters, particularly in the food industry.

• Strong analytical abilities and strategic thinking skills.

• Ability to work independently and manage multi-stakeholder engagement from vision to implementation.

• Excellent communication skills, capable of facilitating dialogue with diverse viewpoints.

• Resilience and adaptability to challenges, with strong problem-solving skills.

• Strong interpersonal skills and attention to detail.
