The role

Orbit are delighted to announce that we are looking to recruit a Sustainability Coordinator to join our Sustainability team, in this newly created role.

The Sustainability Coordinator will provide administrative support for the sustainability department with a strong focus on working with suppliers to maximise social value achieved for Orbit residents across the Group. The role will work closely with the Social Sustainability Lead to embed Orbit's social value framework across Orbit whilst supporting the wider sustainability department as required.

The successful candidate will have prior experience in supplier and community engagement, and a particular interest or background in sustainability procurement. This role can be undertaken from either our Hastings, West Malling, Stratford upon Avon or Coventry offices, and will require travel to remote locations to visit customers and suppliers. This will be a hybrid working role.

What you'll achieveYour key responsibilities will be to:
• Lead on the implementation and delivery of social value from Orbit's supply chain, ensuring balance between maximising social return on investment and other positive outcomes for our customers.
• Establish and improve engagement with suppliers and contract managers to ensure they are ambassadors for the deliverables in our Sustainability Strategy and Sustainable Supplier Charter.
• Produce accurate reports to record supplier delivery and forecasted delivery, providing quarterly updates and an annual report for suppliers and Orbit.
• Support procurement with questions on social value at the point of tender referring to Orbit's Supplier Social Value Framework, including tender scoring and contractor interviews.
• Provide administrative support for the wider department including our environmental, energy & net zero carbon and Geographic Information System (GIS) teams.
What you'll bring

Essential skills:
• Knowledge and experience of securing social value from contractors and setting up frameworks to monitor delivery.
• Experience in community investment delivery and partnerships.
• Excellent report writing and presentation skills
• Experience in recording social value using the HACT Social Value Bank or TOMS
• Previous experience in delivering social value projects
